In short

Numera collects as little data as we can while still keeping the site working. On free use, we do not store your name or date of birth on our servers. We collect anonymous traffic statistics (such as unique visitor counts) for understanding how the site is used. If you ever purchase a paid product, we'll collect what's needed for delivery and Indian GST compliance — and tell you exactly what before you pay.

1. What we collect when you use the free calculator

When you enter your date of birth (and optionally your name) on the homepage:

  • The calculation runs in your browser. Your raw birthday is never sent to our servers.
  • When the AI reading is generated, we send only a hash of your numerological pattern (Driver, Conductor, Kua, missing/repeated numbers) — not your actual birthday or name.
  • Your last few calculations are saved in your own browser's local storage so you can revisit them. We never see this data.
  • An anonymous session ID (random UUID) is generated by your browser to deduplicate visitor counts. It's not linked to any identifying information.

2. Anonymous analytics

We log anonymous events to understand how the site is used: page views, search queries (the search term, not who searched), calculation events (without storing the underlying date), and share events. These are stored in our database keyed by your anonymous session ID.

We use this data for product improvement and to display public visitor counts (e.g. "1,234 visitors so far") at the bottom of the site. We never use it to identify individuals.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracker that follows you across the web.

3. Contact form

When you send a message via our Contact page, we transmit your name, email, and message directly to our personal inbox. We don't store contact messages in a database. We use a transactional email service (Resend) to deliver the message. We only ever use your email to reply to your specific inquiry.

4. Paid products (when available)

If and when you purchase a paid product such as a PDF reading:

  • We collect your email (to send the report and receipt)
  • We collect your name as it should appear on the report
  • We retain the date of birth that the report is based on, for re-delivery if requested
  • Our payment processor (Razorpay for India, Stripe for global) handles payment details — we never see your full card or UPI details
  • We retain billing records for as long as required under Indian GST and tax law (typically 6 years)

You can request deletion of this data after the legal retention period expires by contacting us.

5. Cookies & local storage

Numera uses your browser's local storage (not cookies) to remember your recent grid calculations. This data never leaves your device. We do not set any tracking cookies. If you clear your browser data, your saved calculations are gone.

6. Children

Numera is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we'll delete it.

7. Your rights (DPDPA & GDPR)

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act and the EU's General Data Protection Regulation, you have the right to:

  • Request a copy of any personal data we hold about you (if any)
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements)
  • Withdraw consent for any optional data processing
  • Complain to your local data protection authority

To exercise any of these rights, contact us.

8. AI providers

When we generate readings, we send anonymized numerological data (your pattern, not your identity) to AI providers (currently OpenAI, with Google Gemini planned as a fallback). These providers process the data only to generate the response and have their own privacy policies. We do not send your name, email, or date of birth to them.

9. Where we are based

Numera is operated from India. Our servers are provided by Vercel (US infrastructure) and Turso (multi-region database). By using Numera, you understand your interaction data may be processed in any of these regions.

10. Updates to this policy

We may update this policy as the site evolves (especially as new features like paid products go live). The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will be announced on the homepage.
